Mezzanine fan cleaning instructions with 4 basic steps

Mezzanine fans after a period of use will be dusty. If you do not clean the fan clean, the fan will quickly fail, the wind will not be visible. Not stopping yet, the bacteria that cling to the fan following the wind will cause disease for humans. Do you know how to clean the fan? See mezzanine fan cleaning instructions with 4 basic steps below.

1. Remove cage and propeller

Follow the mezzanine fan cleaning instructions from professional fan mechanics. Then the first thing that you need to do to clean the mezzanine fan is to remove the fan cage and fan blades. If these parts are not removed, it is hard to clean the fan. To remove these parts, follow these steps:

Remove the locking pins on the fan cage and then remove the front cage

Removing the front fan cage: The front fan cage is the easiest part to remove. At the same time, if you do not remove the fan cage at the front, you cannot remove other components. Remove the cage locks designed around the cage. Next, remove the cover that holds the fan cage. The removal is simple, just a few steps and the front cage has been removed from the fan.

Next is to remove the propeller: There is a cover installed in the front for the latch to hold the propeller. You need to remove this cover to be able to remove the wing. The stopper is mounted on the reverse threaded spindle with bolts and nuts. When unscrewing, turn it clockwise. Then remove the wing from the shaft.

Remove the rear fan cage: Once you have removed the blade from the spindle, next you remove the fan cage at the back. To remove the rear cage, turn the plastic stopper counterclockwise. When the sealing ring is removed, the fan cage can be removed.

2. Clean the fan cage and impeller

After removing the cage and fan blades, the next step in the mezzanine fan cleaning instructions guide is to clean the fan cage and blades. Doing this is quite simple, you just need to use a clean cloth to wipe off all the dirt on the wings and fan cage. Also, you can wash with soap and water then wipe or dry.

Note: If you are washing the cage and impeller, make sure that no water gets into the components. This will cause the fan to short, leading to damage.

3. Spindle maintenance

After you have cleaned the fan cage and fan blades according to the mezzanine fan cleaning instructions, you proceed to maintain the rotating shaft. Check to see if the spindle is stiff by turning it by hand. If the fan shaft is stiff, the fan will run slow and get hot. In this case, you only need to put a few drops of machine oil on the shaft where it comes into contact with the bearing.

You may think that if you put oil on the outside of the bearing, you can’t get inside. But you can rest assured that when you plug it in and start the fan, the oil will slowly flow. Thereby lubricating the rotating shaft helps the cylinder to start smoothly, rotate faster, create fresh wind.

4. Install cage and propeller

After applying oil to lubricate the shaft, you need to check if the fan is working safely or not. If you see that the fan shaft is working fine, the next step you need to make is to install the fan parts in the correct position.

Firstly, you have to install the rear fan cage. That is the part you remove last, but it will install first. Place the cage in the correct position then turn the stop ring to secure the fan cage. You can remove the stop ring, turn it anti-clockwise, and do the opposite side when you install it until it is tight safely.

Next, you proceed to install the propeller. Insert the propeller into the shaft and turn the blade pin to keep the propeller from falling out. The wing pin is installed on the rotating shaft, so when installing, you need to be careful, make sure it’s tight, but don’t force it. If the pin is turned too hard, it may cause the shaft to break.

The next part is that you install the front fan cage. When you disassemble, this part is removed first. However, when inserted, it will be installed last. You place the front fan cage to fit the round rim of the rear fan cage. Then you proceed to install the latch lock to keep the fan cage from falling.

Cleaning the mezzanine fan is not too difficult. You just need to follow the mezzanine fan cleaning instructions that we share. That will take you a little bit of time, about 15 to 30 minutes. But in return, you will have a clean, bright fan like new.

Note that you should regularly clean the fan to limit dust and dirt on the fan cage. With the propeller, when you see a lot of dirt on it, you need to clean it immediately and also check the rotating shaft. If too much dirt is attached, it will look very unhygienic, and also cause the fan to be damaged quickly.

Do you know how to clean the mezzanine fan? If your answer is no, immediately see the mezzanine fan cleaning instructions with four basic steps here. It’s not too difficult to do. So please clean the fan regularly to ensure cleanliness.
